Because of boring technical reasons, we need to move all files from the /cs/fs filesystem to a new /cs/fs2 filesystem. This includes all home directories. The moving of the home directory will happen automatically for inactive home directories and will be invisible to the user (except that your Linux home directory file system will be /cs/fs2 instead of /cs/fs on Linux classroom and interactive hosts). Please, log out from all sessions and terminate all processes using the the old home directory (including irc-logging and cronjobs) so that the move can proceed.

The files will be moved during the weekend at 2-3.11.2013 regardless of file system activity. You have been warned.

If you  are in a hurry, use the command /cs/fs/move-my-home in Departmen's Linux workstations or classroom hosts or in melkki.cs.helsinki.fi. You will be sent an email after the move is completed (it shouldn't take longer than few minutes) and it is safe to use your home directory again. If you also use the same command to check if your home directory has already been moved.
