General

Interactive systems pervade our life in mobile, desktop and embedded applications. This practically-oriented course will give an overview of interaction paradigms: from desktop, to mobile, and to ubiquitous computing. The main topics covered are: interface design considerations, input/output devices, sensors, and haptic, audio and affective interaction. The course will give students the opportunity to develop a state-of-the-art interactive system on one of the topics of the course. Students work in groups in designing and evaluating interactive systems for novel systems. The course is assessed 100% by coursework.

Lectures will take place in Period 3 only. Groupwork will continue in Period 4.
