Abstract:

Envisioned applications within domains, such as indoor navigation,
fire-fighting and precision agriculture still pose challenges for
existing positioning solutions. The challenges call for research on
positioning anytime, anywhere and for anything, and energy-efficient
tracking of targets. In this talk we will analyze the barriers for
applying current GNSS technology indoors and how to sense the
impairments on mobile devices. Then we will talk about energy-efficient
tracking for mobile devices. Finally, we will give an overview of the
results from a three year Danish project set out with the goal to
prepare Danish companies for the new possibilities enabled by
innovations in GNSS.
