All University employees and students are warmly welcome to attend the University's opening ceremony on Monday, 3 September. 

In the opening ceremony of the academic year, speeches will be given by Rector Thomas Wilhelmsson, Chair of the Lecturer’s Association Inkeri Ruokonen, and Vice Chair of the Student Union Heikki Luoto.

The Student Union and University will organise a carnival on the city centre campus after the opening ceremony. Also the University’s new main library in the Kaisa building will open its doors for the public for the first time.
