You are all invited to join the action for the environment by the University of Helsinki and its partners on the university environmental week!

This planting is an environmental action that the UH has committed to as the students have made their own environmental commitments during the Reduce a Ton campaign.
This event is paired with the planting of berry bushes in Viikki on Monday 7 October. http://ilmastoinfo.fi/en/reduce-a-ton/

The planting programme:

Location: outside Chemicum, at the stairs starting from Pietari Kalmin katu.

All the speeches will be in Finnish.

Start at 13.00 o’clock
Welcoming words from Janna Pietikäinen or Vihertiimi
Speech: Keijo Hämäläinen, the university’s environmental responsibility, the meaning of teaching and research
Speech: Petteri Taalas, the Meteorological Institute, the partner's address on his own environmental work and research
Speech: Architect Pirjo Ranta, UH, environmentally friendly campus
