More information on ERC grants

The ERC grants are for researchers of any age and any nationality with scientific track record showing great promise.

  • ERC Starting Grant: 2-7 years of experience since completion of PhD
  • ERC Consolidator Grant: over 7 and up to 12 years of experience since completion of PhD
  • ERC Advanced Grant active researchers having an outstanding track-record of significant research achievements in the last 10 years

Research proposed for funding to the ERC should aim high, both with regard to the ambition of the envisaged scientific achievements as well as to the creativity and originality of proposed approaches, including unconventional methodologies and investigations at the interface between established disciplines. Proposals should rise to pioneering and far-reaching challenges at the frontiers of the field(s) addressed, and involve new, ground-breaking or unconventional methodologies, whose risky outlook is justified by the possibility of a major breakthrough with an impact beyond a specific research domain/discipline. Further information on the ERC is available on the ERC's website at http://erc.europa.eu/ .

Information on the ERC grants previously awarded to researchers of University of Helsinki is available athttp://www.helsinki.fi/tutkimus/tutkijat/erc-hankkeet.html .

You are warmly welcome!
