Application deadline passed, entrance exam next

In this spring’s ordinary student application process, 676 persons applied to a Bachelor's or Master's programme. The numbers for previous years are 655 (in 2010), 633 (in 2009), and 376 (in 2008). However, these statistics are not comparable because of the change in application procedures. The number of applicants seems to have stabilised after the meagre years at the beginning of the 2000s. It has reached such a high level that the quota of 130 new students can be filled with select applicants.

The entrance exam will be held on 20 May at 10-14.

In addition to the above, 266 international students applied directly to a Master’s programme, see the previous news item at http://www.cs.helsinki.fi/uutiset/62176 (in Finnish). These students are selected from a different quota.
