Open position: University Lecturer, bioinformatics

The Department of Computer Science is inviting applications for a

UNIVERSITY LECTURER

for a fixed term from May 1, 2012 to July 31, 2013.

The field of the position is computer science, especially bioinformatics. The University Lecturer is expected to carry out research in computer science, to teach bioinformatics based on the research, and to coordinate international master's-level education in bioinformatics.

According to the Regulations of the University of Helsinki, the appointee must hold a suitable doctoral degree and have the ability to provide high-quality teaching based on research and to supervise theses.

Fluency in the English language is required for the position.

The salary will be based on levels 5–7 of the demands level chart for teaching and research personnel in the salary system of Finnish universities. In addition, the appointee will be paid a salary component based on personal work performance.
