J.V. Snellman award: proposals invited by 7 February

University employees are asked for suggestions for the recipient of this
year’s J.V. Snellman award.

The award is given for meritorious work in disseminating academic and
scientific knowledge.  The prize sum is 6,000 Euros.

In selecting the award winner, special attention will be given to work that
has considerably promoted the public's recognition of the research carried
out at and the main goals of the university.

The award was presented for the first time in 1981, on the jubilee of the university.


The Rector selects the winner of the award on the basis of propositions from
university employees.

Suggestions and the reasoning behind them must be sent by Thursday, 7 February,
2013, either by email to hannamaija.helander@helsinki.fi or internal post to Hannamaija
Helander, Communication and social relations, PO Box 33 (Fabianinkatu 18).
Any university employee can propose a winner.
