The head of the department, Jukka Paakki, has elected the deputy heads of the department for the period 2014-2017. The deputies are Professor Jyrki Kivinen, 1st stand-in for the head and in charge of department PR and the website, and Professor Sasu Tarkoma, 2nd stand-in and in charge of research administration and science communications.
