SAP HR system launched

SAP HR, the University of Helsinki?s new staff management system, was launched at 9 am Monday 3.3.2014. From now on, a total of 17 staff management processes will be made electronically using the SAP HR system. These processes include work contracts, fees, grants, leaves of absence and holidays, for instance. All employees of the University of Helsinki will be users of the new system from the start regarding their own information.

The HR and legal affairs unit has prepared the launch of the system together with the IT services and system provider's experts with project manager Jere Reinikainen in the lead. At its final stages, the work has required long testing days, 71 training sessions organized for supervisors, HR officers and staff, creating an organizational structure, setting up the production environment and many other things that make the launch possible.

Launching the SAP HR system has been divided into four stages. The system will expand to include electronic recruitment and international work situations before the summer. In the autumn, it is time for an evaluation system that will replace the currently used YPJ Web. The last stage, which will include knowledge management, a training register, support for induction and development discussions, will be launched at the end of spring 2015.

If you need support in using the system at this stage, please contact your unit's HR officer. They are supported by HR secretaries at the campus service centres.
