How do I make a reservation?

You can make a reservation for your trip by using our online reservation service or by contacting our Service Team. The SMT
Service Team will help you with all your questions related to travelling from Monday to Friday between 8:00 and 17:00.

Outside of the Service Team's opening hours, calls made to the team number will automatically be routed to SMT's own 24-hour
service. All travellers who book their trips with SMT are covered by SMT's automatic emergency follow-up system.

Travel portal and online reservations

You can log into the University of Helsinki's versatile travel portal via the direct login link in the SAP system (SAP/Travel
Management /Travel bookings / SMT Travel Portal).
On your first login, the system requests that you enter a password for the service. The password is only needed when
logging into the mobile service. On your computer, you can log into the portal directly from the SAP system.
Then, the system asks you to fill in the missing information in the traveller profile; you need to check this information,
update it if necessary, and accept it. For example, you need to update the profile with your mobile telephone number
and citizenship. You can access the portal directly on your next login. We respect privacy in processing and storing
any information we receive from you. Keep your profile information up to date, and it will also be relayed to the Service Team.
The University of Helsinki travel portal is provided by SMT, and it allows you to make reservations for flights, hotels, cars,
trains, and taxis both in Finland and internationally. More reservation information is availablemin our portal. Your Service
Team will also help you with any questions related to online reservations. SMT is also available on your mobile phone,
wherever you are. The travel portal and online reservation service are also available on your mobile browser at
www.smt.fi

Smart Travel Confirmation

You are using the Smart Travel Confirmation. The Smart Travel Confirmation contains all the information that travellers need, in
one place and at any time. The service works with all mobile devices. You can view an individual Smart Travel Confirmation from
the travel confirmation message in your email. By clicking the link My Travel Plan Online in the message, you can view the
locations of the terminals and hotels and the links to the online check-in of your airline, for example. By registering an account
in the service, you can also view your past and future reservations and transfer your travel information directly into your
calendar, among other things. Registration is not compulsory; all of the above services are available to the traveller even
without registration.

What if I need a visa?

Your Service Team can get you the necessary visa for more than 100 different countries. For more information on the required
travel documents, refer to the Visa Guide in the Travel Portal. When you enter your citizenship in your traveller profile, the
online service will automatically remind you when you need a visa for your trip.

What if I need to cancel my trip?

If your travel plans change, contact the SMT team immediately for possible reimbursement and corrections.
