UH rises in QS ranking

The University of Helsinki rose to number 67 in the international QS university ranking.

This is 2 places higher than in the previous assessment. In the QS ranking, the University of Helsinki is the only Finnish university to rank among the hundred top universities in the world.

Significant changes are rare in this annual assessment. However, the University of Helsinki made a considerable advancement in the evaluation of international employers.

- Our result improved within all assessment areas, even in comparison with last year’s very good result. We are especially pleased with the significant improvement as an employer, because it is proof of the university’s good name internationally, says Markus Laitinen, director of international affairs.

The University of Helsinki ranked especially well in the fields of arts (50th) and bio- and medical sciences (63rd).
The QS evaluation is carried out annually, and it assesses the top universities in the world, both as a whole and according to discipline. Over 800 universities from around the world are assessed.
