The Language Policy of the University of Helsinki

The Language Policy of the University of Helsinki encourages the university community to discuss and process the use of languages in teaching, research and community relations. The guiding principle of the Policy  is to explore ways in which to ease interaction between community members with varying language backgrounds and for the University to be inclusive in its communication practices.

The central themes in the Policy are combining bilingualism with internationalisation, agreeing on the use of languages in different communicative situations and making the most of the linguistic variety present in the University.
