Invention guidelines updated

The University’s invention guidelines have been updated in an effort to encourage inventions and to use them more effectively. Among other things, the guidelines discuss the rights and responsibilities of inventors in different situations, as well as the amount of remuneration and the principles of profit distribution. Special attention was focused on clarifying matters related to the ownership of inventions.

The University’s ability to refine inventions jointly with inventors and researchers has improved considerably in recent years. This is partly thanks to the University’s new commercialisation policy and to the improvements in funding geared at improving the utilisation of inventions.

The guidelines, which took effect on 29 May 2015, apply to all inventions made by University employees.

Please read the guidelines. The policy for the commercialisation of research results published earlier this year is included with the document.
