The safety plan for Exactum
The building manager of Exactum is Professor Jyrki Kivinen of the Department of Computer Science.
The security manager of the building is IT Expert Pekka Niklander, phone 51147, at the Department of Computer Science.
If you notice a breach in the building security, please contact the porters at in the entrance lobby of Exactum, phone 51111.
A safety plan has been drawn up for the building; there is a summary of the plan in this attachment (pdf document, in Finnish). It is recommended that all employees acquaint themselves with the summary.
The close-call form
With the close-call form, we gather information on threatening situations that occur at the university, though they may not have caused any damage and have therefore been ignored.
We want to gather this information so that we can take this kind of situation into account in future and improve our safety.

Physical safety
The doors of offices, storerooms, and other staff rooms must always be locked when leaving the facility, even for a short time. Please make sure that the door does not open from outside without a key.
If a lock is not working, please contact the building's porters at (09) 191 51111.
Lock your session at your workstation, both in your office and in classrooms, if you are leaving the computer, even for a moment. It is easy to lock your workstation quickly: with Linux, the key combination Ctrl-Alt-L locks the screen, with Windows it is Windows-L. A locked session can only be opened by the user with their password.
Even if the office door is locked, an unlocked session is a potential safety risk that can be avoided with just a little effort! We recommend that you make locking a session part of your routine.
Threatening circumstances
In threatening circumstances (such as theft, disturbances, fire, flooding), please contact the porters downstairs immediately; phone during opening hours (09) 191 51111 or the main control room of the technical department, phone (09) 191 44100 (staffed 24/7).
If you manage to lock yourself out of your office when the building is locked (and your home key is in your office), you can reach the guard via the main control room, phone (09) 191 44100.
