  • Gabriella Dodero from Freie Universität Bozen-Bolzano visits XA Labs on September 5-10, 2012.
  • RAGE at Assembly Summer 2012, the largest demoscene and gaming party in Finland. We organized a MOOC in introductory programming for the event, where each solved programming exercise awarded you a ticket to a hardware lottery. During the weekend we got over 1000 submissions from the arena and gave out awesome prices.

  • Organizing MOOC in introductory programming to students that were admitted to Department of Computer Science through normal procedures. Look out for students that have done their CS1 already before they start their studies. Enter CS2 during the first term.

  • Spring 2012 MOOC and MOOC attendant interviews are over. Over 40 students were admitted to the Department of Computer Science through MOOC.
  • Youth power! Hosting school visits at the Department of Computer Science. Tons of metaphors about Computer Science and University Studies using the marshmallow challenge. Sheer awesomeness!

  • MOOC on programming was awarded the 1st prize (shared) in eEemeli 2012, in the category called "Best of the Best" on Apr 19, 2012. eEemeli is a national quality competition in search of the best interactive media learning solution by the Association of Finnish eLearning Centre.
  • Thomas Vikberg is awarded "laudatur" (highest grade reserved for the most exceptional cases) for his MSc thesis on "Teaching an Introductory Course in Logic to Undergraduate Students Using Extreme Apprenticeship Method" on Apr 3, 2012.
