Regular evaluation of personal work performance (YPJ assessment) in spring 2015/Kevään 2015 säännöllinen YPJ-arviointi

As required by the General Collective Agreement for Universities, an evaluation of the personal performance of the entire staff under the salary system for Finnish universities will be carried out this spring.

At the Department of Computer Science (and HIIT Kumpula), the schedule for this round of assessments is the following.

February– March 2015: Superiors and employees conduct evaluation discussions. A new assessment form for personal performance will be drafted on YPJWeb. NOTE: All the discussions at the department must be documented on YPJWeb. Superior initiates the assessment process by opening the form in YPJWeb system:  https://ypj.it.helsinki.fi/upj2006/?lang=3
 
April 2015: The director or unit head processes and signs the assessments. The employer’s representative will approve and confirm the performance levels.
 
May 2015: Personnel Services will record the performance levels in the salary system for the payment of salaries.

1  June 2015: The new performance levels will take effect.

If the personal performance of an employee has been evaluated after 1 December 2014, such an evaluation will be unnecessary in this round of evaluations. In such cases, the evaluation of personal performance may have been a new employee’s first assessment or an evaluation conducted in connection with a change in the requirement level of the job.

Important: We have at the department several employees whose requirement level (Vaati) has not been confirmed. The administration team will draw up lists of missing requirement level confirmations and send them to the superiors. The superiors should asap start filling in the requirement level forms for employees on the list, in cooperation with these employees.

 

Development discussions/Kehityskeskustelut

University superiors conduct annual development discussions with each of their employees. During the discussions, the superior and employee talk about the employee’s future goals, how the employee’s own work contributes to the unit’s goals, as well as the kind of competence and resources the employee needs to achieve his or her objectives.

The department's own forms (1) or the forms of the university in Flamma (2) are available as support for the discussions.
