Using the library at the Department of Computer Science
Borrowing books
The Helka card is in use in the library. You can take out books through the self-service automat, or go by the librarian. Books can be borrowed for a maximum of 28 days.
Extending the due date
The loan period can be extended IF no-one else has ordered the book. It is recommended that renewals be done at the address http://helka.linneanet.fi/. Renewals may also be done by phone (191 44151) or e-mail (Library@cs.Helsinki.FI). If you use one of the two latter methods, please be prepared to give your Helka card number.
Ordering a book that is out on loan
You can order a book that is on loan by filling in a chit available from the librarian. Please remember to write your Helka card number on the chit. Please hand in the chit to the service desk, which will give you notice when the book is available. The book will be held for you for one week after you have received notice.
Handing in books
The book has to be handed in on the due date, at the latest, to the service desk (not straight into the shelf).
The books in the reference library, conference publications and journals are not for lending.
The library is open Mon-Thu at 8-18 and Fri 8-15.45; closed on Saturdays. In June and August, the library is open Mon-Fri at 8-15.45, closed in July.
