I'm not suggesting you modify ethtool for your needs :) But ethtool
perfectly illustrates the technique of using a single socket ioctl
(SIOCETHTOOL) to extend a set of standard, domain-specific ioctls
(ETHTOOL_xxx) to Linux networking drivers.
