Notes: copied .config files from 2.2.16 to 2.2.19 to be idential.
2nd note: also tried newer compiler gcc-2.95.3 on 2.2.16: no effect.
also, the bsd_comp.o file can be found in:
/usr/src/linux/drivers/net/
-rw-r--r-- 1 root 30335 Mar 25 08:31 bsd_comp.c
-rw-r--r-- 1 root 5680 Jun 24 09:53 bsd_comp.o
but wasn't installed or copied to /lib/modules/2.2.19/
so the second part of this report is minor.

Unable to use 2.2.19 kernel. Please advise.

Thanks,
Stewart
