Wouldn't it be cleaner to have:

#ifdef CONFIG_DEVFS_FS
serial_driver.name = "tts/";
#else
serial_driver.name = "tts";
#endif

and

sprintf("buf, "%s%d", name, idx + tty->driver.name_base);

respectively?!
