ide patch, 2.4.18, boot disk partition, hpt problems

Hi list, hi Andre!

I got the following problem with 2.4.18-preX and the current ide patch:
linux boots normal to the place where the partition table should be
shown, and there it hangs forever.

Here is the end of a kernel boot WITH the ide patch:
