Okay, I'm in a bit of a jam, maybe *someone* can help me out here. I have
a proprietary Sys V machine that I *may not touch* (as it is provided as
part of a third party billing system) and it talks only NetBEUI and only
via Token Ring. I have several workstations that need to talk to it from
an existing network, they're able to be whatever I want but the network is
already set up as ethernet.
Is there some way, any way, that I can set this up so that the
workstations can talk to the proprietary server? I know that NetBEUI
support is still pending (exists source for it, but the config option is
commented out), can I somehow add another ethernet network card and use it
as a direct relay to the Token ring machine? In other words, have one IP
address in the Linux server being relayed (I assume that frame formats or
something woulf have to be translated or whatever) over the Token Ring
card so as to provide some form of hacked routing for NetBeui?
Am I just dreaming and should I just call off the whole mess?
Thanks muchly in advance,
Joe Pranevich
