Bryan,

Hello! I am the email administrator at ITT Automotive. I am
researching many email undeliverable messages BCC ed to a Peter
Andres.

How did you send this message? Did you post it to a bulletin board?
Send it direct? The only common element here is that all messages are
also addressed to linux-kernel@vger.rutgers.edu.

Is there a BCC that no one knows about?

Please help. We are receiving 200+ of these a day.

P.S. Please respond to this email address.

Subject: Lock-ups with sound in development kernels.

I am having problems with sound locking up my machine. Whenever I play
MP3's or Quake, (or anything have to do with sound for that matter)
sound works great for a seemingly random amount of time and then the
whole system locks up. I notice most of the time my hard drive light is
on when it crashes.
I was currently trying 2.1.71 but all previous development kernels had
the same problem. I believe this may be a problem with the devel
kernels primarily because it runs fine under 2.0.32 and Windows 95. Let
me give you a run-down of my system:

Dual Pentium-200MMX: DFI G586VPM motherboard
NCR825 SCSI Controller w/ (2) scsi drives, scsi cdrom, cd writer, scsi
tape backup.
Sound Blaster 16 PnP (I have tried other sounds card with same result.)
Matrox Millenium Video Card
Monster 3D
56k USR Sportster Internal
3com 3c509

I don't believe this is an SMP problem since I have disabled SMP with
same result. I have also ripped apart the system with just the bare
essentials with same result. Any help is would be appreciated. I
apologize for any vital information I might have left out. I have also
set my SCSI settings for the most conservative possible.
