In the past thirty or so hours, my box has died twice,
both times while compiling kernels. As I recall, I
was checking my mail (via ssh) in another VC, and I
may have had sunsite mounted via nfs, but that's about
the lot all the box was doing.
The screen scrolled by a bit too quickly for me to spot
any addresses, but it looked like some "[<xxxxxxxx>]"s
were going by. After a while, the "[<>]"s became the
"Scheduling in interrupt" message, and then everything
stopped. (A "while" as above, is probably about a tenth
of a second, if it matters.)
This sounds like a mean ipfrag attack, but 2.1.67 is safe,
isn't it?
Matthew.
