Ev86 mode and Linux

Pardon my ignorance.  I was just reading an article while catching up on my reading and read about Ev86 mode which allows
things to run more quickly and be more stable on newer Intel 486, Pentium and up chips.  I am curious to know if Linux
impliments this or if it just impliments v86.

I would imagine just v86 because it is the most common denominator.

Is this correct or does it support Ev86?
