I assume that you might be running a Slackware distribution? I ran into
this same problem/error a while back. Vim was compiled with the X
extensions so that when you run vim in X you can use the mouse. However,
if you didn't install X the called library isn't there. You can either
install X to get this library, or get vim in source form from the net and
compile it without the X support.
