I suggested a long time ago that /proc/mounts simply be changed to put
a \0 at the end of the filename.  This is all quite important stuff;
far too many /proc files have unprotected filenames in them.

Eventually it would be nice if /etc/mtab could go away, although it
isn't being abused anywhere near as badly as it used to be.
