PC-chips motherboards are known for 2 things.. low price and low reliability.
I've seen more PC-chips motherboard spontaneously die without a decent reason
than any other brand.

TX-Pro chipsets have trouble with PCI SCSI cards.. so I really wouldn't be
suprised if they are having busmaster IDE problems when they have busmaster
SCSI problems.. symptoms usually result in a total frozen box (and when you
are writing out a CD, it tends to irritate you)

Dunno if they have trouble with ISA SCSI cards but ISA is leaving soon anyway.

I've never personally owned one with TX-Pro motherboards and my common response
to someone having trouble is to simply get a different motherboard.

I'd suggest it anyway even with your current chip.

I'm pretty sure the kernel supports it (haven't looked) but the MVP3 is a
nice chipset as long as you get a CE revision or above. The only problem I am
aware of with the CD and below is that they have trouble with the i740 graphics
chip. Intel seems to be dumping the market with it and I hear that they have
problems in general so I wouldn't be too worried about it.

Nice chipset overall.. nice deep buffers..
My California Graphics Photon 100 should be here next week. :)
