I'm trying use my Linux machine to process RTP voice streams.
While evaluating the performance, I found out that it took
8 ms to send 200 udp packets to local loopback interface,
all the packets have 80 bytes of data, which is of 10 ms worth of voice
if g711 codec is used.
This number seems poor to me, are their any known benchmark
for sending/receiving small udp packets which I can compare.
My system configuration as following:
OS : Linux 2.2.10
CPU: Pentium II (Deschutes) 448.086026 MHZ
MEM: 128 M
Thank you.
