I did a dd if=/dev/cdrom bs=2k | md5sum on cdr's I had just written and
I would get the wrong thing from md5sum. Once or twice I burned the cd,
md5sum got wrong result when dd'd back in, so I ejected it, and pushed
it back in and got the correct result I have definately observed the
behaviour described by Tuukka on my system.
redhat linux 6.0, stock UP kernel on pentium (2.2.5). scsi plextor cd
writer (PX-W8220T) through a ncr53c8xx
BTW: The ncr/symbios card I have is from tekram and seems a little buggy
(doesn't boot reliably, but once booted works fine), so I replaced it
with an adaptec 2940 u2w. doesn't seem to work at all on 2.2.5.
anybody else had any luck? For right now I would like to stay 2.2
kernels until I get scsi going so I can get some backups.
