FWIW, I had very similar problem. I had been using 2.4.0-test1-ac7,
and bttv worked fine. Then I would d/l bttv-0.7.31 and install it
on it. I would just get video noise only. When I reverted the bttv
drivers back to test1-ac7 it again worked fine.
