o Small network driver updates (Andrew Morton)
| 3c59x timer, pci ids, smc9194, 3c515 bits
These appear to break my 3c905C-TX (Tornado) card: the console was
flooded with:
Jun 7 14:27:44 obelix kernel: NETDEV WATCHDOG: eth0: transmit timed out
Jun 7 14:27:44 obelix kernel: eth0: transmit timed out, tx_status 00 statu=
s e000.
Jun 7 14:27:45 obelix kernel: eth0: Too much work in interrupt, status e01=
1.
and network is dead.

The newer kernel gives this message on boot:
Jun 7 14:27:44 obelix kernel: 3c59x.c:v0.99L+LK1.1.6 28 May 2000 Donald =
Becker and others. http://www.scyld.com/network/vortex.html $Revision: 1.97=
$
Jun 7 14:27:44 obelix kernel: eth0: 3Com PCI 3c905C Tornado at 0xdc00, 00=
:02:00:02:00:02, IRQ 10
Jun 7 14:27:44 obelix kernel: 8K byte-wide RAM 5:3 Rx:Tx split, autosele=
ct/Autonegotiate interface.
Jun 7 14:27:44 obelix kernel: MII transceiver found at address 24, statu=
s 782d.

The older gave:
Jun 7 14:39:41 obelix kernel: 3c59x.c:v0.99L+LK1.1.5 30 Apr 2000 Donald =
Becker and others http://cesdis.gsfc.nasa.gov/linux/drivers/vortex.html $R=
evision: 1.78 $
Jun 7 14:39:41 obelix kernel: eth0: 3Com PCI 3c905C Tornado at 0xdc00, ***=
INVALID CHECKSUM 002f*** 00:01:02:1a:89:6f, IRQ 10
Jun 7 14:39:41 obelix kernel: 8K byte-wide RAM 5:3 Rx:Tx split, autosele=
ct/Autonegotiate interface.
Jun 7 14:39:41 obelix kernel: MII transceiver found at address 24, statu=
s 782d.

so apparently the LK1.1.5 to 1.1.6 change broke it.

Where can I find the sources? On Donald Beckers pages I only find
Version 3c59x.c:v0.99Q 5/16/2000
or
Version 3c59x.c:v0.99Qd 5/17/2000

Plug-and-Play is really nice, unfortunately it only works 50% of the time.
To be specific the "Plug" almost always works. --unknown source
