Laitoksen hankerahoituksen haku
Tietojenkäsittelytieteen laitos ryhtyy myöntämään hakemuksesta rahoitusta tutkimushankkeille, opetushankkeille ja muille hankkeille.
Hankkeiden muoto ja tavoitteet ovat vapaat, kunhan ne kehittävät laitoksen toimintaa. Erityisesti kannustetaan sellaisia hankkeita, joissa laitoksen oman rahoituksen merkitys on suuri: uudet tutkimusavaukset, väitelleet tutkijat, joilla ei aiemmin ole ollut hankerahoitusta, opetus- ja oppimismuotojen sekä opetusvälineiden kehittäminen ja kokeileminen, työhyvinvoinnin parantaminen, laitoksen hallinnon järjestelmien kehittäminen, laitoksen näkyvyyden parantaminen, jne.
Rahoitusta voi hakea palkkakuluihin, hankintakuluihin ja muihin kuluihin. Hankkeet voivat alkaa aikaisintaan 18.12.2008 ja päättyä viimeistään vuoden 2009 lopussa, tai erityisistä syistä vuoden 2010 lopussa. Johtoryhmä on varannut hankerahoitukseen 300 000 euroa vuoden 2009 loppuun. (Hankerahoituskäytännön jatkamisesta vuoden 2009 jälkeen tehdään erillinen päätös, joka riippuu laitoksen rahoitustilanteesta ja hankkeista saaduista kokemuksista.)
Vapaamuotoisessa hanke-ehdotuksessa on esitettävä
- lyhyt hankesuunnitelma ja budjetti
- perustelu laitoksen rahoitukselle
- jatko- tai lisärahoitussuunnitelma mikäli laitoksen rahoitus ei kata
koko suunniteltua toimintaa.
Hakemus tulee toimittaa 15.12. mennessä sähköpostilla osoitteeseen hanke-ehdotus@cs.helsinki.fi. Määräaikaan mennessä saapuneet hakemukset käsitellään yhdessä erässä. Sen jälkeen saapuvia hakemuksia rahoitetaan jäljellä olevan rahoituksen puitteissa; nämä hakemukset käsitellään joustavasti ilman hakuaikaa.

Toimikunta tekee johtajalle ehdotukset hankkeiden rahoittamisesta.
Rahoittamisesta päättää johtaja.
Rahoitetut hankkeet julkaistaan laitoksen www-sivuilla. Hankkeista tulee päättymisen jälkeen tehdä lyhyt raportti.
The Department of Computer Science will start to confer funding for research, teaching and other projects on application.
The form and goals of the projects are unspecified, as long as they are geared towards improving the work of the department. Projects where the funding from the department is particularly significant are especially encouraged; e.g. opening up new research; post-doc researchers who have not received project funding before; improving and experimenting with teaching and learning methods and tools; improving well-being in the workplace; development of the department administration systems; improving the visibility of the department, etc.
Applicants may apply for funding towards salaries, acquisitions, and other expenses. Projects may start on 18th December 2008 at the earliest, and end at the end of year 2009 at the latest, or the end of 2010 by special dispensation. The steering committee has set aside EUR300,000 for project funding until the end of 2009. (A separate decision on project funding after year 2009 will be made, depending on the financial situation of the department and experiences gained from these projects.)
The free-form application must include
- a short project plan and budget
- arguments for department funding
- a plan for continued or complementary funding if the department's
funding does not cover the whole project.
Please send the application by e-mail by 15.12. to hanke-ehdotus@cs.helsinki.fi. All applications that have arrived before the 15th December will be processed at the same time. Applications that arrive later will be funded as remaining finances allow; these applications will be processed flexibly without a deadline.
A committee set by the steering committee will process the applications:

The committee will make a proposition to the head of the department on
the funding of the projects.
The head of the department will make the final decision.
The projects that will receive funding will be published on the department's web site. A final brief report must be written on the projects when they have been completed.
