Harjoittelijan tärkeimmät työtehtävät:
This project aims at fully testing and polishing a software package for 
auroral camera calibration and calibration data analysis. Finnish 
Meteorological Institute (FMI) maintains a network of auroral all-sky 
cameras in Finnish Lapland and Svalbard. These instruments automatically 
take pictures of the night sky whenever the sky is dark enough. 
The cameras are calibrated annually using an integrating sphere as a light 
source, and an intensity calibrated photometer and spectrometer as 
reference and a tool for cross-calibration of different cameras and other 
light sources. A newly-developed software package controls each of the 
instruments and processes their data. We are now looking for a summer 
student who can thoroughly test and debug this software during the summer. 
The part of the work for testing the communication with the integrating 
sphere will be done at the FMI unit in Sodankylä.


Harjoittelijalta edellytettävät perusvalmiudet:
good knowledge of Linux operating system, programming skills, good 
communication skills in English
