Real-Time Object-Oriented Database
Architecture for Intelligent Networks

RODAIN Project, 1996-1999

Objectives

In the research project RODAIN we have implemented a small prototype of a real-time main-memory database. The ultimate objective of the RODAIN project is to design and to specify a real-time object-oriented database architecture for Intelligent Networks.

Our current goal is to enhance the prototype functionality by adding the schema management to the database system. We also plan to increase database availability by adding node recovery functionality to the prototype. For test purposes we also implement the client interface to be done through CORBA. The next big step (scheduled for 1999) is to make the prototype database to work as part of a real-time distributed database system.

The RODAIN project work continues in a new project called RTD-Pilot
