Skaalautuvat huippusuorittavat ohjelmistokehitystiimit -tutkimusprojekti (Scalable High Performing Software Design Teams, SCABO) on poikkitieteellinen tutkimusprojekti, jonka tavoitteena on löytää keinoja parantaa tiimityöskentelyä ohjelmistokehityksessä, erityisesti kansainvälisissä, hajautetuissa työympäristöissä toimivien tiimien kohdalla.
Etsimme tutkimusavustajia erilaisiin tehtäviin projektissa. Toivotamme opiskelijoita tervetulleiksi tutkimustiimiimme pääaineesta riippumatta. Pääaineesi voi olla esimerkiksi tietojenkäsittelytiede, psykologia, sosiaalipsykologia, tuotantotalous tai viestintä. Tarjoamme mahdollisuuden työskennellä kohti pro gradua ja saat tukea ja ohjausta gradutyöskentelyysi.
Hankkeessa hyödynnetään Software Factory -laboratoriota Tietojenkäsittelytieteen laitoksella, Helsingin yliopistolla, jossa suoritetaan realistisia projektikokeiluja teollisuuskumppanien kanssa (http://www.softwarefactory.cc). Projektissa on myös viisi Suomessa toimivaa korkean profiilin yritystä jotka soveltavat projektin tutkimustuloksia organisaatioissaan.
SCABOn tutkimusavustajana sinulla on mahdollisuus oppia ja soveltaa kehittyneitä tutkimusmenetelmiä, kuten tekstin ja videon analysointia, sekä tiimien suorituskykyä ja käyttäytymistä arvioivia mittausmenetelmiä. Saat syvän tuntemuksen alan tuoreimmasta tutkimuksesta, ja työskentelet todellisten tapausten parissa Software Factoryssä ja teollisuudessa. Aikaisemmat tietosi ovat hyödyksi pääaineestasi riippumatta!
Työtehtävät SCABOssa ovat tällä hetkellä haettavissa ja niitä täytetään hakemusten saapuessa. Aloitusajoista ja työsopimusten pituuksista voidaan neuvotella joustavasti.

The Scalable High Performing Software Design Teams research project (SCABO) is a multidisciplinary research project that aims to find ways of improving team work in software development, especially for teams operating in a global, distributed work environment.
We are looking for research assistants to perform various tasks in the project. We welcome students to extend our research team regardless of your main field of study. For example, you could be majoring in computer science, psychology, social psychology, industrial engineering, or communications. You have the opportunity to work towards a Master's Thesis and will receive support and guidance in your thesis work.
The project uses the Software Factory laboratory at the Department of Computer Science, University of Helsinki, to carry out realistic project experiments with industry partners (http://www.softwarefactory.cc/). The project also involves five high-profile companies operating in Finland, who are applying the research results in their organisations.
As a research assistant in SCABO, you have the opportunity to learn and apply advanced research methods, including text and video analysis, and measurement techniques for assessing team performance and behaviour. You will gain deep knowledge of the latest research in the field, and you will work with real cases in Software Factory and industry. Regardless of your main field of study, your previous knowledge is useful in this project!
Positions in SCABO are currently open and are filled as suitable applications arrive. Starting times and contract lengths can be flexibly negotiated.
