News

I've become a father! The baby boy was born on Nov 15th 2004, 19:00.

----------------------------------------

o Where It All Started...

I was born 30 January 1971 in Helsinki, Finland. Ten fingers, ten toes, one head. Don't hold it against me.

My father and my brother maintain a net presence.

o ...and Where It is Currently Going

Personally:

I am married since June 23rd, 2000.

My only regret in life is never having enough time and energy to do all the things I'd like to do.

Professionally:

I'm "aiming at a doctoral degree", as the HeCSE Program so succintly puts it. My doctoral thesis will be about service adaptation in mobile environments via distributed frameworks. While the subject is different from that of my Master's thesis, there is an evolutionary path between the two.

I am currently working at the Nokia Research Center.

o Can I Talk to You?

I speak Finnish and Swedish fluently. I can write passable English but my pronounciation leaves something to be desired. I understand German well enough, but my communication in that language is fairly limited - I can usually make myself understood, though.

o Mind Capital

Master's degree in computer science, February 1997. I have been accepted in the HeCSE postgraduate program.

Worked as a researcher in the DOLMEN project (an ACTS project) March 1997 - January 1998. Been working as a researcher in the Monads project 1998-2000.

oWhat, Me?

I'm a fairly serene person. I can be outgoing at times, but I am by no means an extrovert. According to the Keirsey Temperament Test, my Jungian personality type is iNTx (= Mastermind/Architect), with iNTj (Mastermind) being predominant (I don't regard myself as a coordinator, though). Controversial as the test may be, the part about me being a Rational is almost certainly correct.

I have a few hobbies that I hold dear - check the main page. I like good food, steaks especially. Good thing I don't gain weight easily. Even so, I've put on some weight in the last few years. C'est la vie.
