Better learning without neural networks

Abstract

Neural networks are used in many applications. Many researchers seem to believe that they have many superior properties, which make them into useful general tool.

In this presentation, we will discuss two cases:

  • Higher order neural networks for object recognition:
  • Back-propagation through time for learning how to drive a vehicle.
In both cases, we will point out simple solutions that solve these problems better.
