The course is an obligatory course in the approbatur level of Computer Science, the amount of credit units is 4. In the course the principles of programming are the main interest. Java is used as the language of the course, but not all of Java is covered.

Lectures are 14.9-9.12 on Mondays and Wednesdays 16-18 in the auditorium 1 of the Main Building of the University, Fabianinkatu 33.

is used as an English reference for foreign students.

The problems are given in advance. In the weekly meeting the students' solutions are analysed. It is obligatory to answer at least to the half of the total amount of questions but over this limit extra points are achieved.

After the first meeting the students will have advice on using the computers of the Department. The place is D325.

The examinations

The grade is determined:

  1. exam.     22 points 
  2. exam.     26 points

  yhteensä     60 points

The minimum of examination points is 22. About 30 points give 1-/3, 33 give 1/3, ..., c. 51 give 3/3.
