Stephan Olbertz 27 May 2001 16:39:16 +0200 --------------- Hi, although I'm reading this list since march 2000, I never introduced myself in a proper way, my apologies for that! So here we go: I'm 31 and live with my wife and my son in Wuppertal (near Düsseldorf) in Germany, where I studied Classical Guitar, to be more precise "Instrumentalpädagogik" and "Allgemeine Musikerziehung" which is, roughly, guitar teaching and elementary teaching for children (before specialising in any instrument). I'm working (fulltime) as a teacher in the public music school of Bochum, which can be greatest joy and deepest depression in one ;-) My passion for lute music arose when I first played some Robinson at age 16, later on I fell in love with Francescos music - I played it for my entrance _and_ final examination. Besides playing with a wonderful flutist in a flute/guitar duo (doing some gigs with Bach to Piazzolla occasionally), I'm digging deeper in this lute thing for some years now and find myself in the dilemma of loving the brilliant nail attack on the classical guitar as well as the soft and intense tip sound on the lute. Well, and I'm working on a project (kind of book or school) for widening the average guitar students horizon concerning lutes and lutemusic, and I hope it will be finished _and_ published some day. I've got too many passions to mention them all here, but: I love this list! Regards, Stephan Olbertz
