I am 30, married with a six-month-old daughter.  I am a freelance writer
and editor with a lingering graduate degree in philosophy.  I live in
Atlanta, where my wife is an English professor.

I have no musical background, other than history of music theory and
chorus in college.  My first lute was completed and shipped to me from
Italy the day my daughter was born.  My interest in early music from
college eventually led me, while I was living in Italy, back to Italian
renaissance music, where I encountered and fell in love with the lute.
