Salvatore Salvaggio Sat, 8 Jan 2000 07:14:40 -0500 ------------------- I'm 45 years old and work as the director of music and fine arts at the Cooperstown Central Schools in Upstate New York by day - and work as a professional lute and classical guitarist by nite and on weekends. I studied the lute and classical guitar in college with Dennis Koster and Jerry Willard back in the 1970's. I play solo recitals and with consorts, chamber music groups and pit/opera orchestras. I also play baroque guitar and 19th cent. guitar and have done some recording work on CD's on the latter. I 'm married, have two kids, one a pre-med student in college and the other a clarinetist, singer, jazz/rock guitarist in HS. My wife usually runs for cover when we both decide to practic at the same time. I have been playing out more lately to help pay for college and to supply my son with ernie ball .008 super slinky strings - which he keeps breaking. I've been going more into the historical lute direction over the past 10 years, partly thru inspiration from my friendship with Hoppy Smith. A super person. I find the discussions on the lute list to be stimulating. Sal Salvaggio - addicted lutenetter
