Howdy Scott, 

In my 20+ years of lute playing I've been a waiter, hotel clerk, Engilsh
teacher (in Japan), and lately I polish lenses and mirrors for industry,
space and sidewalk astronomy. At about 5 years each I guess I'm due for a
change but the only constant has been my love of Renaissance lute. 

And there ain't nothing lowly about whatever job you hold if it gets you
money for strings.
