Michael Stitt Fri, 7 Jan 2000 20:43:42 -0800 (PST) ------------- I am 38 years of age, 100% Australian, fair skinned, and have played the lute on and off for about three years. Before this I played the classical guitar for over twenty years. My parents were very concerned that I never take up music as a profession when I was young, so I did Architecture, then urban planning, and then a Masters in Environmental law, and finally Music! All the time I was playing my music, I started to turn more and more to Early music and in particular, the music of J.S.Bach. About two years ago my Grandfather [also my dearest best friend] passed away, but before he died he told me to stop wasting time and get on with my music, suggesting subsidising my income from teaching guitar, and using my skills in computing/ I.T. Shortly after he passed away I drafted a web site devoted to the music of Bach on lute and guitar. Weisss Plucked! later followed. The response form Bach lovers all over the world was amazing! My long time goal is to learn more about Weiss and Bach and to share my love of the German Baroque with my other lutenists and guitarists. The discovery of the Lute Net really fuelled by passion for music, Bach, Weiss, and the lute. Next Friday I obtain my 14 course swan-neck lute of which I will then put my transcription of the Goldberg variations into practise which I will record later in the year. It will be my first CD recording. Many thanks for taking tthe time to read this E-mail. Michael Stitt.
