Sign up for Software Factory project collaborating with Stanford and Facebook

During the spring of 2013, the Software Factory at the University of Helsinki will participate in a large-scale open source software development collaboration coordinated by Stanford University and supported by Facebook. Students at the Department of Computer Science have the opportunity to apply for this project starting today. The project begins on January 14th, and can continue until June 30th, depending on student preferences.

This is an intensive course that requires strong commitment.

Project participants will work together on cutting-edge open source projects with other student teams from around the globe, guided by expert mentors from the open source communities.

We are looking for Masters students who are interested in software development, who have the patience and motivation to work for an extended period of time on a software project, who have good programming and teamwork skills, and a positive attitude!

As part of the project, all team members will be flown to Facebook (Menlo Park) in California for a three-day kickoff hackathon during the weekend of 18-21.1.2013. Participation in the hackathon is mandatory for all project participants. Travel and lodging are sponsored by Facebook.
