Mail accounts with expired passwords will be closed
Starting Friday May 17th, 2013, user accounts will be closed
immediately at the mail server if the password of the account
has expired. Mail can still be received or forwarded but it
cannot be read locally until the the password has been reset.
Reminders to change password will usually be sent 60, 30, 14,
and 7 days before the password actually expires.
If the account (not the just the password) has expired
no new mail can be received, all mail will be returned with
a permanent failure indication "User unknown". However, old
mail in the mailbox is retained for 6 months and can be
accessed if the account is re-activated during that period.
