The Graduate School on Software Systems and Engineering (SoSE)

The Graduate School on Software Systems and Engineering (SoSE) is a joint venture between seven Finnish universities. In 2010 it was coordinated by the University of Tampere and it has 10 funded positions.

The graduate school combines research areas that are essential for industrial software production but that have traditionally viewed software systems from rather different perspectives and with different research methods. The focus areas of the graduate school are software engineering and information systems. Software engineering area focuses on the research problems related to the software engineering process, to software design and architecting, to software implementation, to software project management, and to software testing, quality assurance and maintenance. Information systems research studies various software based systems and their development processes in a broader context, emphasizing the benefits gained from information technologies, and the quality and efficiency of the development processes.
