Software Systems
Intermediate studies
The course focuses on the internal workings of a game as a software system. It covers the different components and subsystems involved, what they do, and how they interact with each other. The course will also touch on several game development best practices. There will be a project in which the students develop game demos in small teams. The primary programming language used will be XNA, but other languages may be used in the projects with permission from the lecturer. Grading for the course will depend entirely on participation in and the result of the project. The lectures and instruction as well as any course material will be entirely in English. This is a mildly intensive course. Requirements: Strong programming abilities, particularly in XNA or C++/Java-like languages; knowledge of data structures.
